THE
JUNGLE BOOK
SYNOPSIS
The Jungle Book is a 60 min documentary film. Filmed few weeks before the notorious Calais refugee camp “The Jungle” was bulldozed in late 2016, leaving 10,000 children, women and men homeless, “The Jungle Book” collects the independent stories of refugees from the Middle East and North Africa and those of British medics and craftsmen who volunteered there.
While the volunteers talk about their perspective of The Jungle and their role within it, the refugees recall the shocking chain of events leading to their presence in the camp, detailing its challenges, dangers and the inevitable cultural clashes.
Following the struggles of the refugees today, not much has changed and the cruelty and inhumanity continue. Th crisis persists, affecting lives in Africa, Middle East and Europe.
